Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 188)
With the Business Innovation and Investment Visa – also known as Business Visa or 188 Visa – Australia offers opportunities to companies, entrepreneurs, philanthropists and investors looking to create, grow, operate or participate in new or existing Australian businesses and markets.
The Business Visa offers 5 streams to stay for at least 4 years upon nomination by an Australian State or Territory Government Agency, with options of extension and pathways from the 188 Visa to a Permanent Residency (PR), in eligible cases.
Business Innovation Stream – Requires total net business and personal assets of at least AUD800,000
Investor Stream – Requires net assets of at least AUD2.25 million and to invest at least AUD1.5 million
Significant Investor Stream – Requires an investment of at least AUD5 million
Premium Investor Stream – Requires an investment of at least AUD15 million and being nominated by Austrade
Entrepreneur Stream – Requires funding agreement with a third party of at least AUD200,000

188 visa requirements
In order to submit a valid 188 Visa application, you must:
- be nominated and invited to apply
- demonstrate the corresponding assets
- score at least 65 visa points
- be under 55 years of age
- meet the language requirement
- have the right experience
- not have history of involvement in unacceptable activities
